Southern small town inns are best known for their hospitality and charm. The Smith House has been a family owned restaurant and inn in Dahlonega Georgia since 1922. The restaurant is well known for its’ family style dining of, “pass the bowl please,” to hungry patrons. The Inn has provided Dahlonega visitors with a destination place in the North Georgia Mountains for the past 93 years. The Smith House History Cookbook details the history of Lumpkin County and past owners of the inn that have kept the family style dining a tradition which has been passed down through family generations. Today, the signature recipes which were served on the old wooden tables are included in the book with short stories of actual accounts that made our little town and The Smith House a world famous destination place to visit.
